Generation M2: Media in the Lives of US 8- to 18-year-olds

British Film Institute (BFI)
The BFI promotes understanding and appreciation of Britain's film and television heritage and culture. For example BFI education has activities, resources and services that are directly relevant to teaching and learning about moving image media.

Alliance of Civilizations Media Literacy Education Clearinghouse
A participatory global repository of information, resources, and good practices relevant to Media Literacy Education, Media Education Policy and Youth Media.

TeachToday
A website of teaching resources co-developed by some of the UK’s leading internet, social networking and mobile companies.

Media Ed
A UK media education website run by Media Education Wales.

BBC Media Literacy
The BBC’s dedicated media literacy microsite, containing various media literacy information and resources.

BBC NewsWatch
The BBC’s NewsWatch site looks at issues raised by viewers and listeners about TV news and current affairs shows, including discussion on how editorial decisions are made.

Switch On!
Switch On! is a learning resource designed to support education for media literacy, and is aimed particularly at professionals teaching or caring for people with learning disabilities.

Film Education
Film Education is a link between education and the UK film industry. It facilitates the study and use of film and cinema across the curriculum, creating, developing and sustaining a literate audience through the understanding and enjoyment of film.

Media Smart
This is an industry-funded UK initiative aimed at primary school children. Its objective is to provide children with the tools to help them understand and interpret advertising, so that they are able to make informed choices.

The European Charter for Media Literacy
The Charter for Media Literacy exists to support the establishment of media literacy across Europe.

Center for Media Literacy
A USA-based, not-for-profit organisation providing practical information, teacher training and an on-line catalogue of resources for teaching media literacy.

Media Literacy Portal
US-based portal for media literacy education resources.
